United Way of the Bay Area: Earn It! Keep It! Save It!
This is a website search tool that coordinates free tax preparation by location information for 200 sites in the Bay Area with many search options to include languages accommodated. Services are provided free-of-charge to low income persons. Bring all needed paperwork to successfully file a tax return. This includes: W-2 forms, 1099 forms, picture identification, social security card for each family member, documentation of deductible expenses such as childcare payments or out-of-pocket medical expenses, account and routing numbers for checking or savings accounts for direct deposit and a faster refund (the preparer can locate this information if you bring a check from your checkbook), health insurance marketplace statement number 1095A,B and/or C for those who are enrolled into Covered California, and a copy of your previous year tax returns, if available.
